Welcome to Wem Playmates Nursery

Choosing a nursery is an important decision and here at Wem Playmates we aim to provide a happy, comfortable and secure place for children in our care.

Wem Playmates is a pre-school nursery and also a preferred provider for children with special education needs within the local authority.

We want your child to be happy and flourish when at Playmates, this helps them to build their character and confidence. With this in mind, we hope children enjoy their time with us, so that they are able to build a secure foundation for the next step of their learning.

We always look to ensure that your child is relaxed and allowed to express themselves, helping them reach their full potential and build character during their time with us. With this approach we hope children enjoy their time at Wem Playmates Nursery, where they can build a secure foundation for the next stage of learning.

We like to take our children into the local community to do lots of exciting things. This includes going on the local bus for a trip around the town, visiting local residential home where the children sing Christmas songs to the residents and also going to Theatre Severn to watch live performances.

Our staff believe in giving children the best start in life, enabling us to do that each member of staff is qualified and trained in childcare – level 2 and 3 or qualified teacher status. All members of staff have an Enhanced DBS disclosure completed.

We provide a safe, fun and enabling environment for your child to learn and explore in.

The facilities we utilise are extensive and ensure each child has plenty of space. We have four rooms: Crawling Caterpillars, Busy Beehive, Penguin Paradise and Lion’s Den, alongside side 2 great outdoor spaces, and a large indoor hall available for physical education and fun sessions.

Wem Playmates is located on the Business Park, which is situated in the market town of Wem. Parking is available outside the main entrance.

Safety at Wem Playmates Nursery

We do everything we can to prevent your child from hurting themselves, with close supervision maintained by all members of staff and children/staff ratios always ensured. If someone other than yourself is to collect a child, a password system is in operation where the adult collecting the child must know the password otherwise the child will stay in our care.
